Lin Tse-Hsu was a chineses Commissioner in Canton(a politician), who precipitated the Opium Wars(1830-1842). When the emperor's son died of a opium overdose, he sent Lin Tse-Hsu to Canton, the chief trading port of the East India company, to end the trading. Lin Tse-Hsu was born august 30,1785 and died November 22,1850 at the age of 65

Lin Ze Xu (30 August 1785 – 22 November 1850) was a Chinese scholar and official during the Qing dynasty. He is most recognized for his conduct and his constant position on the "high moral ground" in his fight, as a "shepherd" of his people, against the opium trade in Guangzhou.
