Amenhotep IV, who changed his name to Akhenaten because it meant beneficial to Aton, made very radical changes to Egypt. He was very much disliked by the priest class because he changed the polytheistic religion of Egypt to a Monotheistic cult honoring only the god Aton, "The Sun's Disk".
