You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Normal Colgate does mention Fluoride in its ingredients, but I don't use that.

M$Tom's of Maine is the market share-leader in Natural toothpaste, with 60+% of the market in natural toothpastes. They've got about 1-2+% market share in toothpaste overall. However, not all of Tom's products are fluoride free, so I'd expect about 1% of the country, possibly more since they sold out to Colgate, are now using a fluoride free toothpaste.
Now, not all those people use Tom's because it's fluoride free. Most of them probably use it because it says "natural" on the label and it's found at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's or where ever they shop. What do these small numbers of people actively seeking out a toothpaste without fluoride tell you about the extent of the controversy over fluoride?
From where I stand, there's more controversy over the CIA's role in 9/11 and who shot JFK than there is over fluoride in toothpaste.
