I, unlike a lot of people, was not a fan of the movie, but I was mesmerized by Ledger's portrayal of the Joker. He did all his evil for the thrill of the act and not for some underlying agenda. Hence he could never be stopped without killing him. Which made it interesting because, he wanted Batman to kill him because that is the one thing Batman did not wish to do.
And the fact that we will never see Heath Ledger portray him again makes it more memorable.

He is my anti-hero. His is my dark wish that I think more people have than would care to admit.
He understands and deals with his psychopathy better than anyone I've seen in the history books or all of the forensic psychology I have read.
I also love his sense of humor...
