The thing I love about him is that he makes even the most complex and boring facts seem so interesting. I've learned a lot from him by just watching videos of him on youtube.

M$Thanks for answering. I am also astonished by Hawking's ability to overcome such incredible obstacles to reach the height of respect among "commoners" and scientists alike. I also admire the fact he isn't in love with his own theories and can retract incorrect statements when shown the contradicting facts.
I've run across many a scientist that fell in love with their views rather than in love with the truth.
thanks again.
Thanks for answering and the great choice. He is one of my favorites as well. He says he had a tough time in his early days at the University of Texas, but overcame a lot and never gave up. I love that he seems quite down to earth and explains everything in a manner to actually explain things. Many scientists attempt to use jargon to impress and reduce questions from an audience. Tyson seems to actually encourage questioning.
Thanks again.
