Who is the worst president in the history of USA?

Tip for best answer: M$4.06
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Historically, James Buchanan was the worst president in history. He encouraged the Dredd Scott decision which allowed kept Congress from keeping slavery out of territories and helped spread slavery. What was crazy was how he was rejecting slavery yet made all these compromises to keep it going by NOT challenging changes to it. To top that, he didn't challenge the states that wanted to withdraw from the Union after Abraham Lincoln was elected. Warren Harding gets another vote in for worst president in history for letting his buddies loot and plunder the U.S. treasury and Herbert Hoover for being ineffective during the Great Depression.

I'd say Bush Junior. He detoriated America's image abroad, he set fear in people's mind, he was incapable of protecting the US from terrorists attacks (intelligence had warned him of 9/11 but he did nothing).

While I don't think much of Bush, this answer reflects a lack of appreciation for the magnitude of historical events and an overblown sense of the importance of current events. Lots of presidents have been bad at foreign affairs, the US has suffered much greater attacks, there have been worse recessions, there have been bigger wars. Bush may be in the bottom 25% or so, but he doesn't compare with Buchanan or several others.

I'm going to have to go with Obama at this very moment, I have never in all my years seen the economy go to mess this fast, nor have I ever seen so many people claiming unemployment and welfare, jobs just are not hiring in fear of his big reforms.

I'd have to go with Andrew Johnson - whose antics led to an impeachment, he skipped getting the boot by merely one vote. Talk about a loss of confidence

He didn't actually do anything bad, like several others did. He just held a very politically unpopular position.

Wow...is a tie. Lyndon Johnson and George W. Between the two? I would have to say, George W.

Bush jr. He was stupid, ignorant, and an out and out liar. What a combination. Throw in greedy and mean spirited and you begin to understand why he left our country in this terrible condition that may last decades.
The entire planet is in chaos and pain as a result of this one incompetent fool.
