Who is the oldest football player for the NFL?

Tip for best answer: M$1.01
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The oldest player in the NFL this season is John Carney, a kicker for the New Orleans Saints. He will turn 46 in April. There are several players who are over 40 and still playing in the NFL, the most famous (or infamous!) is Brett Favre of the Minnesota Vikings. Although at the end of the 2010 season, Favre announced he would officially retire. He had an especially difficult year, with several injuries and even an off-field scandal regarding text messages sent while he was playing with the New York Jets. The oldest player to ever play in the NFL was George Blanda, who played until he was 48 years old. Given the NFL’s focus on speed and strength, we most likely will not see another player last that long again.
