Who is the greatest video game villian of all time?

In your opinion, who is the greatest video game villian of all time? Wesker from Resident Evil? Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII? Robotnik from Sonic? In some cases these are apples and oranges, but state your case and win some dollars!
Tip for best answer: M$2.10
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I'm gonna say Kefka from Final Fantasy 3/6. This is a villain with no morals who does anything in his power to get what he wants. Which ranges from poisoning his own troops to kill the people of Doma Castle, to tricking the heroes by having the Emperor imprison him to gain the trust of the rebellion, to killing the Emperor and ruining the world to gain more magic.

Kefka also has a great laugh which is very Joker-esque, along with a number of great lines throughout the game.

Kefka also made into the Top 10 of GameSpot's "Top Ten Video Game Villains" at number 8, thanks to a write-in vote. In 1994 he was ranked the best villain to appear on Nintendo consoles back in 1994 through a Nintendo Power poll. He ranked 3rd in UGO.com's "Top 25 Japanese RPG Characters" article and ranked #6 on a similar list from IGN for "Top 25 Final Fantasy Characters".

Sephiroth's just a guy with mommy issues compared to Kefka.

This man speaks the truth! After all these years playing videogames, I still haven't come across any character as demented and evil as FF6's Kefka.

I think the best villian ever is Bowser from Super Mario.

I vote for "Psycho Mantis" from Metal Gear Solid, for having the most deranged way to kill him off. Psycho actually captures control of your entire system, switching off the screen, knowing all other games you have on your memory-card, and 'reading' your controller, thereby always know your next move (which you could only avoid by plugging the controller to another port!)

the greatest villain cant be just named as him being the final boss.
he should have caused great pain to the hero/heroine of the game or caused a great setback.

well i found super Joe to be such a villain as he misuses us(bionic commando) to take over the world.
Bionic commando -Joe
GTA 4 - Dimitri Rascalov

the one who betrays

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones - Vizier

For me it would be either GlaDOS (Portal) or Shodan (System Shock 2). The first one is the funniest A.I. villain ever, the second one the most scary.

Bowser is the best villain ever. Why? Dragon turtle thing. Doesn't take crap. Not afraid to take a woman hostage. However, he can be defeated by being jumped on.

I will say that the greatest video game villain has got to be the little brother. How many save points have been lost, bruises felt, tears cried, and parents angered?

My alternate would be a mother.

Donkey Kong from the original Donkey Kong game. He still your girl the princess he smart enough to know your coming and throw carts at you. So am think it could be a reverse play on Darwinism, the monkey is smarter than the man in the never ending struggle to find your way to the top and get the girl no need for 3d or words it was just good old evil.

Missingo from pokemon R/B/Y because if you wanted to beat the game and capture every possible pokemon he would end up curropting your data. What could possibly be worse than a villan that forces you to restart your game?
