Born on 30 March 1908 in Waltair, Andhra Pradesh/ India, Devika Rani comes from a respectable family. Daughter of Col. M. N. Choudheri (first Indian Surgeon General of Madras) and Mrs. Leela Choudheri. Her grand-uncle was Rabindranath Tagore one of India's greatest poets. She studied applied arts in London/ England, specializing in textile designing and decor, architecture.
Devika Rani starred in the movies like: Jeevan Naya (1936), Achhut Kanya (1936), Jeevan Prabhat (1937), Durga (1939), Hamari Baat (1943).
She dies on 8 March 1994 in Bangalore, Karnataka/ India.
