Who is the best WNBA player, Diana Taurasi or Deanna Nolan?
Diana Taurasi started her career in 2004 and was awarded as Rookie of the Year. She has excelled at every facet of the game. She also led the league in 2009 to score for the third time and was places among the top 10 leaders in 11 offensive and defensive categories. On the other hand, Deanna Nolan in 2009 ended the season as the league's hottest player. She was recognized by the WNBA and given with three consecutive Player of the Week Awards to close the season. Between the two ladies who is the best?

I'll compare both players overall numbers this year and career to make my decision. Nolan averaged 16.9 points per game, 4.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting nearly 41% from the floor and 78% from the foul line. During her 9 nine year career, in which she has clearly improved over her first few seasons, she is averaging 13.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
Taurasi averaged 20.4 points per game in 2009. She shot 46% from the floor and 89% from the free throw line. She also averaged 5.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game. For her career she has averaged 20.4 points per game on nearly 44% shooting and 83% from the free throw line. Taurasi has had three season in which she averaged over 20 points per game.
Although Deanna Nolan has played well and is deserving of recognition, it's pretty clear to me that in every phase of the game that Taurasi has been better and should be recognized as such.
