The answer to this question is very subjective. Everyone will have their own opinion as to who the best receiver is today. If you go purely by statistics, then the top 5 receivers in terms of yardage are Brandon Lloyd of the Denver Broncos, Roddy White of the Atlanta Falcons, Andre Johnson of the Houston Texans, Terrell Owens of the Cincinnati Bengals and Reggie Wayne of the Indianapolis Colts. The top 5 in terms of receptions are White, Wayne, Johnson, Marques Colston of the New Orleans Saints and Owens and Wes Welker of the New England Patriots. Receiver with the most touchdowns are Dwayne Bowe of the Kansas City Chiefs, Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions, Lloyd and Greg Jennings of the Green Bay Packers.
How do these receivers compare to the best of all time? Too early to tell in many instances. Statistically, Jerry Rice is the best receiver of all time. Terrell Owens is second all time in touchdown receptions for a receiver and he is still 53 behind Rice. He is also second all time among receivers in receptions, but is still nearly 500 behind Rice.
