You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I also follow Tiesto on Twitter, and let me tell you, that guys is EVERYWHERE! This week alone he's been in Peurto Rico, Paris, Ibiza, New Jersey (or somewhere on the east coast), and Montreal. I don't joke when I say he's in a different country and even a different continent every single day! Why? Because people are willing to PAY to have him fly half way around the world for a set! I mean, the guy even has a private jet! Every tweet I read, he's in a new place.

I did have the chance to see him live in Toronto, but I couldn't find anyone to go with me, and missed it! In retrospect, I should have just went by myself and not missed out on the opportunity. The guy is fantastic.
I also like Armin Van Buuren, but he doesn't live up to Tiesto. He also played in Toronto, and some friends of mine went. They didn't know I was in to that kind of music until they told me they were going THAT day. They offered me a ride.. but I couldn't get tickets, and I didn't want to risk waiting in line or trying to buy scalped tickets and not getting in. His song "In and Out of Love" with Sharon Den Adel is one of my favorite songs.
Bennasi is good for a listen, but I don't think I'd put him in the top 10. Paul Van Dyk and David Guetta (another concert I stupidly missed) are also some of my favorites - though Guetta seems to be going a lot more mainstream, I'm not sure he would still fit in to the genre.
A new(ish) name I think we have to look out for is Jorg Schmid - he's not big yet, but I think he will be! He does mostly remixes, as far as a know, and he's done a lot of work on the Clubland series. Check him out!

Oh, and I don't know if he counts either, but what about Yves Larock? I was lucky enough to see him right here in London, Ontario at a very small venue downtown... He was fantastic!

The list says it is current, or so it seems to be for summer 2010. It looks pretty reliable to me. Of that list, I do also have some songs from Benny Benassi. I actually really like him, but he doesn't still doesn't top Tiesto in my book! I have listen to 'Love Comes Again' so many times, probably more than anyone else. I also have some of the Cirque De Soleil stuff with Tiesto. I love both! How awesome would that be to see a show combined with both? I'd pay 10,000 dollars to see that if I had it.
On the trance list, it seems that Tiesto is #2 (how sad) with Armin van Buuren as #1.

M$You are right about Armin van Buuren being on the top ten on the DJ directory ranking. As of the time I checked, he was on number two, while Tiesto was the number one on the list. You can check this site (http://thedjlist.com/djs/ ) to get updates on the latest ranking order.
Tiesto did not just become famous because he was a good DJ. I believe that the fact that he Topped the DJ list for three good years and played in the opening ceremonies of the Olympic games, made Tiesto a name on the lips of many .
I think Tiesto would always have to sit tight because Armin van Buuren and Paul Van Dyk would always be on his tail.
