Harry Potter a fictional character created by J.K. Rowlings. Harry is an orphan who is unaware that he is a wizard. On his 11th birthday, Rubeus Hagrid comes to Harry and tells him that he's a wizard and is to attend the wizard school Hogwarts. Over time, Harry learns about his parents from their teachers and friends and also learns about the role that Voldemort played in their demise. The books tell the story of Harry growing up, learning magic and about his life and death battles against the evil Voldemort.
Although J.K. Rowlings gave Harry Potter her birthdate, she claims that Harry is not directly based on her or any other living human being and is not named after real person. She has associated him with the character of Wart in T. H. White's novel The Sword in the Stone and has said that she feels that he is "Harry's spiritual ancestor." Rowlings says that Harry is a good role model for kids and has heroic qualities that we can all admire.
