There has been a lot of actors that do voice over work for cartoon characters. Tom Hanks was the voice of Sheriff Woody in a Toy Story, Phil Hartman, various characters including Troy McClure, Lionel Hutz, and Lyle Lanley on The Simpsons. John Goodman as James P. 'Sulley' Sullivan in Monsters Inc. Chris Rock, Osmosis Jones in Osmosis Jones, just to name a few. Famous actors that got their start in film by doing cartoon voice over work, Ted Knight as the voice of the main character of Journey to the Center of the Earth, Cheryl Ladd was the singing voice of Melody in Josie and the Pussycats, Hank Azaria has been with the Simpsons since 1989, Apu, Chief Wiggum and Dr. Nick Riviera before becoming a main stream movie actor.
