Who invented the accordian?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There is much debate on who really invented the accordion first as this time window was only 6 years. During this time, several people have made the claim they invented the accordion - most notably Firedrich Lohner in 1816 and Christian Friedrich Ludwig Buschmann in 1822. However, the actual patent for the accordion was in 1829 by a man named Cyrill Demain.

Cyril Damien produced and patented the ancestor of the modern accordion in 1829. After that it was developed in many ways. Until 1910, the piano accordion was only well known in European countries. The accordion is a popular instrument in many countries.
