Skype, comes from the word 'Sky peer to peer' was developed by Ahti Heinla, Priit Kasesalu and Jaan Tallinn. It was founded by Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis. Skype was first released to the public on August 2003. The company headquarter is in Luxembourg.
