Most will tell you that Photography was “invented” in the 1800’s, which is not true. Photography is the culmination of a number of inventions that date back to the time of the ancient Greeks. "Photography" is derived from the Greek words photos ("light") and graphein ("to draw"). The camera obscura was invented in China and stimulated other inventors to try to record what the camera projected.
