Who here would like to acquire an abandoned missile silo and make it your home?

The ultimate in home security for the discriminating survivalist assuming the Soviets have retargeted their missiles. Very roomy and not expensive considering the initial cost paid by our government. Of course, you may have first pump the water out if they are leaking. What would you put in your missile silo? How would you decorate it? Would you equip it with....canned goods.... a complete machine shop, or a hydroponics garden? Here's a website that offers them for sale:

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Well i wouldn't want the job.

Its a lonely life to lead, not only is there the possibility of lingering radiation poisoning, there is also the fear of getting trapped down there. I've had the pleasure and the pain of speaking to some retired war vets that where assigned to such facilities and they are both ill for whatever reasons.

One was left sterile, the other is at the veterans hospital.

Then again if it where a fairly large facility (say a couple miles large), and was constructed from scratch i might not have a problem with it. Much compensation would have to be involved however. :)

Wild idea tho!

I have a friend who lives in a silo in Kansas. It took millions to make it livable. This is not something to undertake if you need to ask how much?
