M$There have been many amazing bands comprised of all female members. Here are some of the more popular female groups the music business has seen. The Go-Go’s are an all female band that emerged from the punk and new age movements of the late 70’s and early 80’s. The group formed in 1978, and in 1982 were nominated for a Grammy award for best new artist. Salt-N-Pepa were a hip-hop/r&b group that was hugely popular in the 90’s and won the 1995 Grammy for best rap performance among several other nominations. Destiny’s Child was a hugely successful all female R&B groups who won several Grammy’s including best R&B performance and best R&B song. The Pussy Cat Dolls are another female R&B group that has achieved success and in 2005 received a Grammy nomination. Due to the immeasurable number of bands in the world, it is difficult to estimate the percentage of bands which are all female but it can be certain that they are the minority in the music industry.
