Who else cried when Sirius Black died in the Harry Potter series?

I cried like a baby. Did anyone else have this reaction?

I surely did!

Honestly speaking, I was just as much in a state of confusion when Sirius died as Harry was, maybe more!! Through the 3 books, Sirius had become as much of a friend to me as Ron, Hermione and Dumbledore, and when he was killed I was in such a state of denial that I read that passage at least three times to convince myself that Rowling had actually finished Sirius off!

My heart literally went out to Harry, he had lost so much in his life, his parents, and his childhood and all the carefree time that comes with it and now, he had lost Sirius too, his friend, his godfather. It felt like all the seams keeping Harry secure were being snipped… I still wish that Sirius had been spared…Bellatrix, sorry, but J.K.Rowling made us hate you even more than we already did!!

I cried my butt off. I felt as though I'd lost my own father. After building up the character as someone that was wrongly abused for 12 years in prison, finding that he was all alone and that he loved Harry Potter immensely due to his great friendship with Harry's father, James Potter from school.

When you find out that a guy who grew up in a very evil world, with a very evil mother, manages to still be a good person, you have to truly begin to feel affinity for him.

Sirius Black was a great character in the books. He had interesting background, he had compassion, and he was a very good support character. Harry keeps losing his family members which also made me sad. I cried because Sirius died, and I cried because Harry was left alone again.

In the movie they did a lot less with Sirius dying and so the impact was not as great visually, but since I knew the book story line, it still was a crying moment. When Harry stood by helplessly and Lupin had to hold him back it was devastating to anyone who understood how important they were to each other.

So sad, really.

I was very upset, not to tears, but almost. I really enjoy the entire series, but it got to me a lot worse in the actual novels. I cried a few tiems by the end of the series!
