Who do you think will be the next break out artist for 2011?

Who do you think will be the next break out artist for 2011?
Tip for best answer: M$3.02
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Although they have been around for awhile I think that Grace Potter & The Nocturnals will be a major break out artist this year.

I've been following this great band from Vermont for a few years now and I've noticed that they have been getting alot of air time with some of the songs off of their latest self titled album
'Grace Potter & The Nocturnals'
The song Paris along with Grace's more sensual look is exactly what the band needed to get the attention that, in my opinion, they deserve.
I mean, come on, just listen to the song and tell me it don't make ya want to move.
The entire album has some great songs on it such as, Medicine, Colors, Oasis, and Tiny Light.
Just an overall great album.

I don't know that I would place them in any single jenre, but I sure know they are a charged up Band that really entertains and owns a stage when they preform.
Thier selling out dates and getting the media reviews they deserve.

-quote-
“The group’s third disc, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals (out in June), finds a sweet spot between rowdy, blues-driven live sound and tight, classic-rock songcraft.”
– Rolling Stone, Best new bands of 2010 (April 2010)

“The Nocturnals third disc tilts from Janis Joplin-esque bluster, to laid-back singer-songwriter soul that recalls a toughened-up Jorah Jones, to Alanis-like blasts of epic recrimination.”
Rolling Stone (June 2010)

“…their self-titled album runs like a 1973 mustang convertible and may make a star of Potter, 27, who has already driven crowds crazy…Leave it to a dude from Brooklyn and a long-haired band from Vermont to collaborate on the year’s best Southern-rock album”
Playboy (July 2010)
-end quote-

I've seen this band live on numberous occasions over the past few years and absolutely love their sound.
The only thing I regret as their popularity rises is the small venues that I prefer are just no longer suitable to host the crowds that they are drawing.

All I can say is, Grace, You and the Band Rock On!
2011 is going to be your best year ever and I'm happy for you and the guys.
I look forward to seeing you guys next month.
