Second on my list is Julius Erving of the Philadelphia 76ers. He had his best days in the ABA and would be number 1 on this list if just talking about ABA players, but Dr J. was still a great NBA player. He was an 11 time All Star, 5 time All NBA First Team, league MVP, won a championship in 1983, averaged 22 points, 6.7 rebounds per game, 3.9 assists per game, shot 50.7%, scored over 30,000 professional points (NBA and ABA combined), member of the Hall of Fame and one of the 50 greatest players of all time.
Others that I feel deserve considerable consideration are Elgin Baylor and John Havlicek and Rick Barry.

M$Although you could define Kobe Bryant as a swingman, his primary position is Guard. My personal opinion of a swingman would be John Havlicek who played for the Boston Celtics in the 1960s and 70s. He came off the bench and moved to which ever of the two positions was required. There are other older players that fit this role such as Joe Caldwell who played for the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks, and Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers. Anyway, when I pick the best swingman ever in the NBA, I need to go with John Havlicek. He defined the role and was great at it. He was the premier sixth man and enshrined as a member of the Naismith Hall of Fame in 1984.
