Who do I contact to request my defective DVDs of Wall-E be exchanged for ones that work?

They were received as a gift, from someone all the way across the country, so returning them to the store is not an option.

I need to know what the contact address is for Disney/Pixar to request replacement discs.

(I'm aware that any replacement might also have the same problem, if the problem stems from their DRM, but I'll at least get some satisfaction out of making them spend some money on it.)
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Unfortunately, they do not list any info on the site concerning defective discs that have a "free" replacement, but I would call and demand it anyway.

1-800-723-4763 (U.S.) 1-888-877-2843 (Canada)

Disney FAQ:

If you accidentally damage or break one of your Disney DVDs, you can get a replacement disc for a nominal charge of $6.95.

Please mail in your damaged DVD (along with DVD case and full packaging), a Check or Money order for $6.95 (made payable to WDHE), along with your Contact Information (Name, Address, and Phone Number) to:

Replacement Program
PO Box 3100
Neenah, WI 54957-3100

Note:
When calling for the replacement discs, they ask for the stock number listed on the disk. It is a 5 digit number in the same square on the disk that contains the running time and the technical support phone number.
So you may want to have that ready when you call...

A surprising number of DVD's are returned due to defect. It happens and stores know it.

You could likely return the DVD to your local supermarket or mega mart for the exchange of another without a problem. In many areas in the U.S. and Canada, Disney Stores exist in Malls - if one is located around where you live, perhaps a visit there will result in a fast and easy swap.

Beyond this, Disney requests that you consult this FAQ:
http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/dvdsupport/faq.html

In the FAQ, they say that you can get a replacement by sending $6.95 and the DVD to:
Replacement Program
PO Box 3100
Neenah, WI 54957-3100.

To file a report online, you can fill out this form:
http://studio.go.com/cgi-bin/gmail/generic_mail.cgi?template=video/dvd_report_a_problem/report.tpl

However, if you're correct and the DRM is the issue, none of these efforts will help. If you were to provide the name of the movie and the player you're trying to use, the solution may be a technical setting or process. If you're interested in exploring this avenue, reply and I'll be first in line to help!

Take it to your local Walmart and say you lost the receipt. They will likely let you exchange it.

I'm not really interested in cheating a retail store—especially since I've already used the digital movie code for the DVD set. I'm more interested in making a point by insisting Disney replace my defective discs.

You would in no way be cheating out the retail store. The store will send the defective copy back to disney and get credit for the item. This really is your best (and by far easiest option).

I worked for many years at the largest bookstore in the country (and years at the 2nd largest bookstore in the country) and can assure you that doing the return at any retailer for the exact same item will not be a problem or hurt the retailer in any way.
