Emmaadog, of course George Lucas was the creator of Star Wars. All together, including the Stars Wars epic films, George Lucas created nine short films in the 60's, and six major epics. On the origional Star Wars trilogy, Lucas completely did all the writing and producing on the first one, while sharing the work on the second 2 episodes. On the second group of episodes, Star Wars episodes I,II,III, all recently released in the years 1999, 2002, and 2005, Lucas did the screenplays. Now on coming up with the idea for Star Wars, George Lucas used religion as a base. Lucas saw that many people were losing there religion in the world and used the movies to turn the tide. To this, he readily admits. He even goes as far as to say that he has borrowed from multiple religions to get his ideas for the movies.
