Who can nominate someone for an Oscar?
Can anyone nominate someone or a film for an Oscar? How does that work?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi @setimar, not everyone can nominate someone for an Oscar award. The nomination process is a well organized event and is done my members of a committee known as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences or AMPAS.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) is a a professional honorary organization, which is made up of actors and others bodies in the film industry.
Before anyone can vote, he has to be certified by the auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and must also be a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The names of the members or voters are not usually announced, so you can say for sure who voted for who.
After the nominations has been done, the results are then announced publicly.
