Generally speaking, Hindus and Buddhists comprise the largest numbers of people who believe in karma. There are a myriad of religions, and undoubtedly, some of them also adopt the karma concept as well.
Some people adopt a personal karma concept as "what goes around comes around," a form of karma that doesn't coincide with Hinduism and Buddhism.
Hinduism sees karma as a set of impressions you embed on your avatara. Whatever karma that you get for a certain life isn't necessarily the sum of all the karma you have earned.
