I must say i was thrilled to hear of the new super group Them Crooked Vultures getting together in 2009.
Them Crooked Vultures is:

Nirvana (Drums), Foo Fighters (Lead vocal)

Led Zeppelin (Bass, keyboard)

It's amacing how these three artists mix their styles, you can truely hear elements from Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin and Queens of the Stone age all together.

Also the band White Lies has impressed me with their debut album "To Lose My Life..." though they might sound familiar i think we can expect some nice tunes coming from this band. Listen to them yourself, try "Death".
