Who are the top 50 Groupon like copycats online today? Extra bonus tip will be paid to anyone for unique unannounced names of businesse

list of the top 50 (i.e. deals.livingsocial.com, buywithme.com)

or

names of companies that are planning on launching but have not as of yet (this part is a bonus tip to anyone who gives names that are accurate and do plan on launching)
Tip for best answer: M$10.55
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Groupon business model is daily deal + group buying/shopping + discount platform.
There are businesses with similar concept but they may not be “copycat”. Some have different niches and methods. Some may exist earlier than Groupon.

Not in order of preferences..

Businesses with Group Buying concept:
1. Play @ savvy circle
2. BuyWithMe
3. Qponus
4. Deals.livingsocial
5. Sangabo
6. Ihergo, Taiwan’s version of Group Buying site. (you may use Google translator to view)
7. Pikaba
8. GotoGroupBuy
9. Let’s Groop
10. Gruuby
11. Pudgin
12. MyDala, India’s version.
13. PurchasingDept
14. Crowdsprout
15. GroupBuyingEdge
16. eWinWin
17. FoodBuy
18. Prime Advantage
19. Broadlane
20. The Buying Group

Businesses that are nearer to business concepts of daily deals, discount, coupons platform:
21. Shirt.woot
22. Wine.woot
23. kids.woot
24. sellout.woot
25. Woot
26. Ideeli
27. Jellyfish.com which becomes Bing Cashback
28. Whiskey Militia
29. pricebunch
30. uwantsavings
31. Dillyeo
32. Gear Trade
33. Tanga deal
34. deals.nextag.com
35. Townhog
36. thingfling
37. Delight.com
38. Cinderella Wine
39. DealComet
40. GiltGroupe
41. Hautelook
42. Unodeals
43. Yugster
44. Dealsucker
45. Dodtracker
46. 8coupons
47. Vaklub, India’s version
48. GoVasool, India’s version
49. Clust, France's version
50. CrazyMike, Taiwan’s version of Deal per Day site. (you may use Google translator to view)

Found a paper on group buying:
http://www.hbs.edu/units/tom/seminars/2002/kanand.pdf
There are a lot of group buying sites mentioned in the appendix.
However, we may need to check whether the group buying sites are still available. Some may have closed down.

Hope this helps.

We have a local site here in Oklahoma that is rapidly gaining popularity: wimgo.com This site is owned and maintained by a local news company that has operated the Daily Oklahoman newspaper and News 9 television news network in this state for some time. While they may not be competitive with Groupon on a large scale, they most certainly are in Oklahoma. In addition, I find it very interesting that a newspaper publishing company is jumping on the web content/web advertising bandwagon in such a unique way.

The new daily deals site in India, CityOffers has started with this unique feature called Prepay Wallet. To buy deals from the site instead of filling in your credit card, debit card details every time ,one can add money one time in their Prepay Wallet and then he/she can use that money till he/she is out of it. One can think of it like a prepaid mobile card.So if you put in Rs 1000 today you can use it till you buy the coupons worth Rs 1000! The site is here. http://www.cityoffers.in/

Good list offered. The thing to note is that although there have been a quite a few copycats, they have done a relatively poor job thus far. Livingsocial was able to capitalize on its existing network, but otherwise the 'copy paste' has not been effective.

GotoGroupBuy isn't really a Groupon copy cat because they don't really do the same thing.

It's more like a D.I.Y. group buy site just like how eBay is a D.I.Y. auction site.

It lets you start group buys for anything you want, whereas, Groupon decides what to do a group buy on and only lets you choose from what they offer.

Another big difference is that GotoGroupBuy is free and Groupon charges the merchant/business a big commission.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

This site is doing pretty well in India and Singapore. www.koovs.com
Really exciting deals, very good execution and they have explored many verticals. Not like most sites providing discounts mostly on food and beauty. They have explored into adventure sports, fashion, fine dining, and learning activities.
They sure are a promising lot.
