Who are the top 5 alternative Christian music bands in 2009?
My husband and I love alternative Christian music. We had quite a number of collected songs from different bands in this genre and we wanted to add more songs for our collections. We have songs from Mercy Me, Casting Crowns and Bid Daddy Weave. Aside from the ones I have mentioned are there other alternative Christian bands? What are best Christian bands in 2009? Please include a title of their hit song.

Wow. My family and I enjoy music by alternative Christian music bands too. Here are some that were really hot in 2009. They are:
* Caedmon's Call. This is a great Christian band whose album ‘’God of Wonders’' was a hit in 2009. This Christian band's name was created, based on a story of that was told in the 7th Century , about a shepherd named Caedmon, who was scared and ashamed to sing in public. But one night an angel appeared to him in a dream and told him to sing and when Caedmon did he found out that he really had a great voice.
*Tree63 is another Christian music band that made a great hit in 2009 with their album titled 'Blessed be Your Name'. Their name was formerly ‘’tree’’ but after a conflict rose regarding the name, because there was already a band in America with the same name , so they just added The '63' in their name , from their second album and also as a reference to the book of the bible, PSALM 63.
* Aaron Shust’s band was also one of the top five Christian music of 2009. One of my favorite too.He was named the songwriter of the year At the GMA Dove Awards in 2007. One of his albums in 2009 is 'My Savior My God'.
* Newsboys: In 1997 the Newsboys band was nominated for a Grammy award. But in 2009, their album, a worship CD titled 'You are My King (Amazing Love)' was a hit
*Chris Tomlin is a solo artist but travels with a band. His song ‘’ How Great is our God’ is a favorite of many church choirs and assemblies.
