Who are the peace-loving Israel politicians after Yitzhak Rabin ?

Yitzhak Rabin had made peace with PLO’s Yasser Arafat but he was assasinated by right-wing Jewish peoples.

Are there any peace-loving Israel politicians after Yitzhak Rabin ?
Current Israel political leaders seem to be right-wing.

The main stream Israeli political parties supporting peace even with extensive concessions are Kadima, led by former foreign minister Tsipi Livni, and Labor, led by former IDF chief of staff, prime minister and current defense minister Ehud Barak.

The main difficulty is the perception among the Israeli public (and thus the political parties representing them) that there are no partners for peace. Mahmud Abbas would be such, except that he has next to no political power, and what little power he does have is bolstered each time he makes anti-Israel pronouncements.

According to Israeli public opinion, Israel fully withdrew from the Gaza Strip, maintaining control over its borders to prevent excessive arming, which led to several years during which thousands of rockets and mortar rounds rained from the Strip onto towns and cities in the south of Israel. Following Israel's leaving Lebanon, Hizbullah armed itself with tens of thousands of missiles, and then conducted a cross-border raid into Israel, leading to a month-long war, during which thousands more missiles, these much more deadly that those of the Hamas, rained on the north of Israel, causing hundreds of thousands of Israeli civilians to have to leave their homes seeking safe haven. The conclusion Israelis are led to is that each time Israel makes concessions, or withdraws from a territory, Arabs use the newly Israeli-free area to amass munitions and launch indiscriminate attacks against Israeli civilians. With that backdrop, there is little willingness remaining to continue and make concessions to the Palestinians or Arab countries, unless they can convince Israel that they really mean peace this time.

This will be a difficult thing to convince Israel of as long as Arabs and especially Palestinians conduct rabidly anti-Israeli propaganda and fill their text books with falsehoods intended to demonize Israel and Israelis in the eyes of their impressionable youngsters, perpetuating the hatred from their side, and making it ever more difficult for any moderate leadership to arise and/or gain power, enabling them to negotiate a genuine and lasting peace.

Thanks for the insights to the complicated issue.

It is a sad case. It takes generations of fightings for hawkish Yasser Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin (and Shimon Peres ?) to realise continuing conflicts is not the way and decided finally to make peace (became dovish). They made peace but they failed to control the right-wing. Yitzhak Rabin himself killed by Israel’s right wing and Israel’s hawkish Likud overpowered dovish Labour and Kadima politically. Yasser Arafat’s Fatah can’t control Hamas, worsened by his mysterious death (poison ?) during confinement by Israel.

It’s like a missed opportunity.

It's more than this or else Israel would not have had decades of peaceful relations with Egypt and Jordan, both of which are just as harsh and unyielding towards the Palestinian territories as Israel is. The issue is best summed up by the Hamas' political charter: specifically Article 7 which calls for total genocide, Article 22 which claims that every war and revolution in history (french, russian, both world wars, and all colonialism) were directly caused by the jews, and Article 32 which claims that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a real document rather than an antisemetic forgery from 1903 with material taken directly from political satire and the names swapped out.

Consider that during every "ceasefire" or "peace" there has been no real slowdown in the attacks on Israeli civilians, arab AND jew, but Israel continually goes along with international demands for these periods even though they KNOW they will be paying for it with their citizens lives. That alone should be evidence enough of the Israeli desire for a real peace, let alone the continuing support for their actions by neighboring Arab nations which share land borders with the Palestinian territories.

He got seriously ill while in confinement (?) and rumours of poisoning (?).
Mystery and controversy.
