In the Halo game the Forerunners are an ancient being who is considered the creators of some of the known weapons and technology used in the Halo game. These forms of technology are:
Halo Array: or the Sacred Rings are seven large rings of installation that are used to combat the flood, which is a dangerous parasite in the Halo game.
The Ark: The place in which all of the Halo installations can be activated through out the entire universe.
Shield Worlds: A shelter against the Halo Array, after it’s activated.
The Forerunners were also the known creators of other artifacts that could be found in the planets in the Halo game such as, Reach, Earth, and Sigma Octanus IV.
