I will start and end my answer with one player, Pele. He is known around the world as the best soccer player of all time. Pele was born in 1940 and was a star for Brazil from 1957 through 1971. He also played for Santos from 1956 through 1974 and the New York Cosmos from 1975 through 1977. He is the top scorer of all time with scored 760 official goals, 541 in league championships. He scored 37 goals in 64 games with the New York Cosmos late in his career. He finished with a total of 1281 goals in 1363 games. Brazil won the World Cup 3 times during Pele's career and had an overall team record of 67 wins, 14 draws, and 11 losses in games which Pele played. He scored 12 goals in World Cup, the most all time and compiled numerous awards and honors. To me, he is hands down the best player ever. No need to even compared to anyone else at this time.
