Also, how do you define best? Is it based on pure stats? Or is sportsmanship and leadership included? Can any players who used PED's before MLB had a made it illegal in 2004 be included?
The best baseball player of our time, who will leave the biggest legacy is New York Yankee Captain Derek Jeter. Jeter is a role model, has five World Series rings and is the most respected player among his peers and managers throughout baseball.
Stat-wise Jeter is not the best, but he hits in the clutch, leads his teams to the ultimate goal and plays the game the right way. That blows any stats out of the water, but Jeter posts solid numbers too.
