Who are the best NHL goalies of all time?
When I am watching a hockey game, I cannot help but admire these athletes who are ready to put their body in front of a piece of black rubber traveling at a fast speed. I think they are one of the bravest athletes in the world of sports. They are the last line of defense and I consider them as one of the most important players on their teams. And so I wonder who are the best NHL goalies of all time?

I too admire the goaltenders. They are the most important part of the team, because with out a good goaltender the opposing team will score easily. Goalies are the most athletic on the team because of their extreme quickness, speed and gymnist like flexibility. In my opinion the best goaltenders of all time are as follows:
1) Patrick Roy- he is widely considered to be the best goalie of all time (which I agree). He just retired in the early 2000's and is already in the hall of fame.
2) Martin Brodeur- He still plays but is in the twilight of his career. When he retires he will most definitley be in the hall of fame.
3) Dominik Hasek- He is in everyones book a top 5 pick. When I was younger and played video games I would always make sure he was my goalie. He retired 2 years ago from the NHL, but just this year he came out of retirement and plays overseas.
4) Glenn Hall- He played back in the 60's and 70's in the NHL I believe. He was so good that his nickname was "Mr. Goalie". He is in the Hall of fame.
5). Ed Belfour- He retired 2 years ago. He has so many awards that I can't remember them all. He has an Olympic gold medal from 2002 with Canada and I'm sure will be in the hall of fame.
There are several other goalies that are good enough to be in the top 5, but there just isn't enough room. Future stars that may someday make this list are Ryan Miller (currently with the Buffalo Sabres and Team USA), Roberto Luongo ( currently with the San Jose Sharks and Team Canada), and Antti Niemi of the Chicago Blackhawks.
