M$1. Cris Collinsworth – Hands down the best commentator in my opinion. He has an incredible ability to watch everything going on during a play in live action and be able to break it down for the interested fan quickly. He spots the keys to just about every play and brings great observations to any game he commentates.
2. Ron Jaworski/Merrill Hoge – I think these guys do a great job breaking down games on ESPN’s NFL Matchup show. I love watching how they break apart film and show the critical details of each play to the average fan. It may be the show itself that I like here, but I find that these two guys are a good fit and deliver week in and week out.
3. Brian Billick – Exposure to the second tier of commentators is a bit limited to the games you see in your region, but I’ve seen a few games that Brian Billick has commentated and think he really does a good job. Sadly, “good” is better than most.
