Linksys is owned by Cisco. Cisco is the worlds leading enterprise provider of networking equipment. Linksys is their consumer level product brand.
I personaly own a Linksys WRT54G2 wifi router and I like it a lot.
The greatest thing about Linksys wifi routers is that you can Mod it. There is an active hacker community and fans. So if your an advanced user. You could flash to replace the original firmware of a linksys router to enhance its capability. The most notable of these 3rd party Firmware projects are OpenWRT and DD-WRT.
As of now I don't have the need to tinker with my router. But it doesn't hurt to know that you can hack it if I want to. =)
