Which type(s) of goods does Malaysia specialise in?

My sister is visiting Malaysia at the moment (Kuala Lumpur to be specific) and has offered to bring me back a gift or souvenir of some sort for Christmas. So, I'd like to know — what type of goods are the best value or speciality of Malaysia?
Tip for best answer: M$0.00

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I'm from Malaysia.. for the computer products & gadgets, the best place is Low Yatt Plaza. Almost everything selling there with a very reasonable price. How to get there? From Hentian Pudu (Puduraya Bus Station), take STAR lrt to Hang Tuah station, then take Monorail to Lot 10 station. The Low Yatt Plaza is behind Bukit Bintang Plaza. Just a few minutes walks.

Make sure you check out Royal Selangor Pewter products - they make very nice souvenirs! I recommend getting the Petronas Twin Towers plates or replica. She could get them at shops inside the KLCC Suria but she might get them at "tourist" prices so a nearby mall in the MidValley would be ideal too (Note: I'm not from KL but I frequently go there).

Thankyou for the souvenir suggestion, I'm also interested in electronics as I hear they are quite competitively priced there.

Mostly computer gear: flash drives, microphones, hard drives, power supplies and video cards.

Would you happen to know which districts are the best to shop for computer parts?

They have electronics, petroleum, and logging as some of their main industries. You can look through the rest at
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/my.html

That site has a TON of info on every country.
