Which Twilight book is the best?

What's the best Twilight book, and why? I've seen the movie for the original Twilight and even own the soundtrack for it, too, but I haven't checked out New Moon, Eclipse, or Breaking Dawn. I think I avoided them because I didn't like Pattinson's portrayal of Edward - I think he was too broodish and morose for the part. Maybe that turned me off from the other chapters of the series, lol. Frankly, I think the studio did a much better job casting, to be honest. I did read Meyer's book The Host and really liked that, which is why I'm stating to wonder if I should re-visit Twilight series all together. It's a good excuse to look at Ashley Greene, I guess :-D

Breaking Dawn.

You have to read the last book; it is seriously good.
It's when Edward and Bella finally wed and they go on their honeymoon (for those who like the lovely-dovely kinds of things). Another big event happens ― I don't want to spoil it for you, but it will keep you reading until the morning. The book ends in a good note and will surely make you smile.

I use to like the "Twilight" series, but ever since the movies and the "twitards" had unleashed, I can't stand the sight of the book. The actors were horrible. Kristen, to be honest, could not act to save her life and Robert was too, blagh. Another film adaption that killed the book. I'm sounding too much like film critic now, but read the last one. It was my favorite book of the series when I found the "Twilight" tolerable. :-)

I've read all four books in the Twilight series and I have also read The Host.

I believe Twilight is the best out of all four. Why? Because its impact is the biggest and the story is neither too slow or too fast. It's perfect.

Twilight is the introduction of a whole new idea(race) of vampires and the storyline is as fresh as the apple on the cover. The three books following Twilight are honestly slow reads. There ARE sections that seem good but overall you're straining to continue reading to get to those points.

I would judge Twilight and The Host(seperately) much, much better than New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn put together. The story should have ended when Edward and Bella were alone at the end of Twilight but I think Meyer's was having too much fun writing about her dream and decided to throw the story around some more.

I liked the the first book Twilight it was a little different from the movie. There are more emotions shown in the book than the actual movie.

My favorite however, was Breaking Dawn but a lot of people will disagree with me. It's been said that it was written in a completely different style but I don't agree. I think the characters just evolved book by book. I read the last two books in a week. I literally couldn't put them down.

This one, about oil and world economics: http://www.amazon.com/Twilight-Desert-Coming-Saudi-Economy/dp/0471790184/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265909751&sr=1-18

Seriously, one of my kids was - like andy above - a huge Twilight series fan until the movie came out. Way before the movie, the phenomenon was very big here in Meyer's hometown (my daughter wanted to hang out by her house to meet her), and the movie killed it for many of those girls. (OK, they also grew older and moved on.) But, she thought (still does) Breaking Dawn was the best.

Definately Breaking Dawn.

Not only is it the thickest, but theres also loads of events in it, whereas not as much happens in Eclipse, I think Eclipse is just a sort of book conecting New Moon and Breaking Dawn together.

The only downer is you have to buy it in hardback, and that cost me £14.99 (Approx. $23.50) from WHSmith. But im sure you could get it for cheaper online.

;D xx

Breaking Dawn. It's broken into sections, which switch back and forth from Bella's view and Jacob's view. The story really takes off and twists and turns a couple times in the final book. The character development throughout the series plays out so well in Breaking Dawn; even with little things, such as finally figuring out why (or how?) Edward can't read Bella's mind. So much happens and it's just so good! I can't think of how to describe how amazing it is without giving away too much of the plot! Don't let the actor portrayals of the characters turn you off of the books; I try not to think of books and movies as being related to each other at all- I tell myself they're completely separate with similar stories. ;-)

Breaking Dawn is definitely my favorite book. Don't get me wrong I love them all but Breaking Dawn just puts everything together and really sweeps the reader away into this crazy world of Vampires and Werewolves. It settles all the remaining thoughts and anticipation left from the other three books.

I've read all four books but the one I loved most is the first book, Twilight.

You know what they say about sequels? That the second, the third, or whatever that will come after the first one will have less chances of being able to be better than the first? I actually felt that it happened here. Here are some of my reasons...

1. Twilight is a story of true love, the once in a lifetime type of love. The books after shows another love interest which makes Bella's feelings questionable. I'm actually thinking that she's only after Edward's looks. LoL
2. The story after Twilight becomes more complicated to the point that it starts to contradict with other information already specified. I have no objections with Bella having a baby but Meyer already mentioned that ones a person became a vampire, he/she is already dead. So how did the baby conceived? And no, I'm not really satisfied with the reason stated on the book. XD
3. Jacob's feeling towards Renesmee. One word: yuck. XD

That's just some of the reasons I can think of now. I'm a fan of the book Twilight but I guess the other books could've been better. Too bad though the Twilight movie RUINED the book. T.T
