about The Lord of the Rings
Which Tolkien books, apart from Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit would you recommend, and why?
Personally I have read and greatlly enjoyed The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and The Silmarillion.
However I have attempted to read such things as Unfinished Tales and made little headway.

The Children of Hurin. It's a quick read and the writing style is superb. Tolkien does a great job of setting tone and setting, as well as suspense.
