Which store has the best checkout procedures: Cosco, Wal-Mart, or Target?

I don't like standing in lines.

I think Cosco has the best check out procedures and is very fast in totalling the items in the grocery basket.
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

costco has also a very lenient return policy. you can return almost anything, without the box and they will honor it.

Unfortunately, I don't have a Costco near me. Walmart always has really long lines, and they don't have a 'self-checkout' lane. So, I'll go with target.

(It's "Costco"... I seem to be the correction police today...)

There are SO many products going through Costco's lines... it's GOT to be them. They also have to memorize some of the numbers in case the scan doesn't work. It seems to be VERY efficient...

In my opinion, Costco wins hands down, and Walmart comes in last behind every other store I can think of, well except maybe Big Lots, they have a terrible check-out.

Around where I live, I actually HATE to disagree with everyone but I have to say Walmart and ONLY because if the lines are full they have these computer automated lines that you can check yourself out with. You scan the object yourself and then put the money into the machine just like a candy machine or you can also entire you debit/credit card and they have like ten of these machines in addition to the regular lines where people check you out. I don't have a costco in my area and target in my area takes too long. I think the answer to this question depends on where you live.
