All blackberries with RIM OS 4.0 or later have this ability they also have security seeding and DoD approved encryption.
I have gone threw 4 BlackBerries the latest my 7290 upgraded to RIM OS 4.1 has the ability to "Hide" any memos or personal contacts you wish.
You can even hide entire applications from the home screen.
I was very happy with my blackberry however I could no longer afford the high 30$+ a month subscription to RIM's BES/BIS services on T-Mobile or AT&T , I'm not sure what the rates are now however I would imagine they have dropped significantly , as well as new prepaid solutions coming to light and popping up in different cities across the world.
Just do a quick search for blackberry prepaid and all the other info i have covered in this answer its all there. It's all relative .

Personal Note: Blackberries can be the best if you know what you are doing.
Kind Regards,
