1 year, 11 months ago about Chunky's Gift Card

Which of these movies would you recommend the most?

I have a Chunky's Gift Card that is burning a hole in my pocket and I want to see a movie today or tonight. Here is a list of the movies playing at Chunky's Cinema and Pub my favorite local movie theater ...

http://www.chunkys.com/now_showing.asp?loc=Nashua

I like movies that will keep me entertained throughout my time in the theater and have no particular type or genre of movies that I like better than another.. I just like to go to the movies and the seats at Chunky's are very comfortable Lincoln Town Car automobile seats so the movie has to be able to keep me awake at the very very least.. preferably at the edge of the seat. Thank you in advance :)

I've seen almost all of them and here are my opinions

Get HIM TO THE GREEK: This is one of those movies that were basically made for guys. With alot of nudity and crude humor; it's defiantly what you're looking for if your just in the mood for something without a really good story line, but containing lots of humor and 'what the fuck' moments.

GROWNUPS: Frankly, I think any movie with Adam Sandler is a must see and I think the same about this one.

KILLERS: Is a bit of a chick flick, with alot of 'awww' moments; not to mention alot of 'drooling on myself' with the hunky Ashton Kutcher and not to mention the incredibly hot Katherine Heigl. It's a pretty fun movie over all; with just the right amount of action and romance.

KNIGHT AND DAY: I found actually pretty good. I wasn't expecting it to work at all. For some reason Tom Cruise seems a long way from his Mission Impossible days; but he surprised me in this and it worked out somehow. Has ALOT of humor and really good action scenes.

TOYSTORY 3: is good to watch if your in a nostalgic mood. Not as good as the first two in my opinion; but still overall pretty good.

The rest I haven't seen; but I heard THE LAST AIRBENDER was freaking awesome and am going to see it soon :)

"The Last Airbender" looks to be fabulous and would be my first pick from all these movies, but I haven't seen it yet. Shyamalan has been a bit of a let-down his last few movies, but I have high hopes for this next one. I would highly recommend "Toy Story 3," it didn't feel sequel-y at all, and it was both exciting and emotional. "Karate Kid" was better than I expected (Jackie Chan plays a slightly more serious role than usual), plus I loved hearing all the Chinese being spoken. "Knight and Day" looks really funny in the trailer, but I heard some really bad reviews. I saw "Shrek" - it felt sequel-y, but for a free movie, it wouldn't be an awful choice. If you're interested in seeing "Twilight," the trailer looks decent, but out of posterity as a Potter fan (and a human being), I'm not recommending it. ;)

The rest I haven't seen. Perhaps some comedy fans can enlighten you on how those movies were, and whether you should see them.

Edit: Also - New Hampshire? Wow! Your town looks really cute! :)

I honestly have not seen any of these yet, so I can't really make a good recommendation. As a fan of the 80s, I myself have been desperately wanting to see the A Team Movie. I would also like to check out The Karate Kid, just so that I can compare it to the old school version. Someone told me that the kid in that movie is Will Smith's son, but I don't know if that is accurate.

I personally have been waiting for Jonah Hex to come out. This one looks really good to me, but I have been wrong before. I am not much on animated films, but my kid has been dying to see Toy Story 3. The only animated movies that I really enjoyed were Meet the Robinsons, Wall-E, and G Force. Perhaps when I get my Dodge Challenger out of the shop, I will head to my local theater to check out one of these new flicks as well.

If you are going to Chunky's today, don't forget your pants! The seats may be comfortable and all, but other people want to enjoy the movie too.

That all depends on where you live. You can go outside in the country naked and no one would ever know. I live five miles from a nudist camp, and it attracts a lot of tourists. I don't think that pocket in your underwear is where your keys and wallet go, though.

Pants are key in public.. learned that the hard way.. just because the underwear have pockets does not mean they are okay for wearing outside. ;)

I've heard great things about Toy Story 3 and it probably looks to be the best on the list. If you are looking for a little more action, I think Knight and Day or The A-Team seems to fit the bill. From what I've heard, neither is spectacular, but both are entertaining enough.

I think if you want the best movie, you go for Toy Story, but I think if I were you, I'd end up at Knight and Day (no matter how far-fetched and cheesy it might seem).

I've only seen two of these movies, but if you'll allow me, I'll happily expound on both!

A-TEAM -
Despite its mediocre reviews, I had FUN at this movie! I'm an original A-Team fan in a big way. I own the seasons on DVD and can quote the opening intro by heart. And let me tell you, if you like the tv series, this movie is a great tribute. They took a lot of care with casting to pick some characters who honored the originals. The new Howling Mad Murdoch was brilliant (and stole the show), Faceman was every bit as charming and devilish as he should be, B.A. was menacing but kind, and Hannibal was fierce and clever (if a little more brooding than George Peppard's original take on the character).

The big difference? Violence. There was a ton of action, and YES people actually got killed. A lot of people. But the cool thing is that the plot revolves around how the A-Team came together, and their original back story of how they were framed and had to become soldiers of fortune. It's great fan service all over the place. Ever want to know why B.A.'s afraid to fly? They cover it. If you are in the mood for a good action flick that's just plain fun--if not too deep--then this is a great time.

TOY STORY 3 -
By all means, this movie is good. It's touching and sweet, with moments of cute humor. It's also deep enough that a number of men have copped to crying at its end. For a third entry in the series, it really does an eloquent job of bringing the characters full circle and giving them a purpose. A few parts are a bit scary for little kids, but if they cover their eyes, they'll really delight at about 98% of the movie.

How about adults? It's mildly entertaining, especially if you saw the other two movies and liked them. But there's nothing especially clever or sly about the jokes that will really make this movie "brilliant" for most adults.

OVERALL - I'd go see A-Team again if I was going to the theater again tonight. Then again, I still have a crush on the original cast (who, by the way, make cameo appearances after the credits roll at the end, minus George Peppard). If you want to see stuff blow up, A-Team! If you want some sentiment, Toy Story!

Your call. ;)

My movie date got moved up to tomorrow night and it is between these two movies.. or the possible move of the movie night again to Friday and in that case then I will throw "The Last Airbender" into the sorting hat for a possibility.. such hard decisions life gives us.

In my opinion an action flick it worth seeing on the big screen. You have the surround sound and the large screen which make it all the more entertaining. I saw A-Team about a week ago and I LOVED it. It was entertaining, exhilirating, and just all around to watch (and of course easy on the eyes). I would absolutely recommend seeing this on the big screen.

I saw Toy Story 3 in digital 3D last night and it was very cute with some adult humor included. I have to say though that it really would not have made a difference had I seen it in 2D so I suggest saving yourself the extra few dollars you would spend on 3D because it really was not worth it.

I haven't seen any of the other movies but my next choice would be Airbender, which is on my list of movies to see. The other ones I feel like I can wait till they came out on DVD. All in all, I would suggest seeing A-Team first if you have not because it really easy an awesome movie.

I don't know if you are a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, so I don't know if you are excited to see the M. Night Shyamalan version. I think the trailers look really good- well, visually. I would like people to go see it, because if it is a good film, they might check out Avatar on DVD or on Nickelodeon.

I think that Grown Ups and Karate Kid lean towards famil fare, so if you're going with the family, go for these.

If you're a fan of Pixar then you wouldn't even be asking for a recommendation. Toy Story 3 has tremendous, ridiculous reviews!

Twilight: Eclipse? Again, if you're a part of the initiated, then your mind is already made up.

Of the movies out now, and not those debuting on Friday, go see A-Team. I hope you wont take things too seriously. If you like to simply be escapist, then you can enjoy this film.
