Which of the Final Fantasy title(s) is your favorite and why?

I've been a gamer since I was a kid, and the Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior titles are what got me into playing rpgs back then. To date, I've played almost all of the Final Fantasy titles, except for Final Fantasy 11, since its a MMORPG, and Final Fantasy 13, since its on a system I don't have. Back when game emulation was first developed I played many of the Japanese only tiles at the time: FF2, FF3, and FF5, all of which later translated and adapted to North America. So why is one or 2 titles your particular favorite?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I haven't played that many games of the Final Fantasy series, mainly the Final Fantasy VIII on the PSP, and I am now frantically playing Final Fantasy XIII on my Playstation 3. I've tried out several other Japanese RPGs, but they just never 'stuck' on me. This Final Fantasy XIII however, is right up my alley. I like the battle-system, the storyline (albeit a bit confusing with all those fantasy names with quotes in them), and the general look and feel of the game.

As I said, I also played Final Fantasy VIII on the PSP, but I liked the arcade-style battlesystem in that version way less. For me, RPGs are supposed to not revolve around quick trigger-fingers, but about making the right attack-choices. That's also why I liked Fallout 3, with its semi-turnbased gameplay.
So, without having played all FInal Fantasy episodes, I can definitely say I like the most recent version. I'm playing is with much enthusiasm, and expect to continue playing it all through this summer! Talk about value for money! :)

I think Final Fantasy 4 is defiantly my favorite. The story line is just so intricate and carefully thought over. After that it would most likely be final fantasy 7; for the exact same reason.

my all time worst is without a doubt the one about the crystals. i don't even remember what it's called i hated it so much lol
