Which method do you prefer to preserve your family memories: traditional scrapbooking or digital scrapbooking?

Tip for best answer: M$0.10
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Digital, for sure. No mess. No stuff to store. You can do it anywhere you can bring your laptop.

If you don't want to buy Photoshop, which is expensive, and buy/download every piece of art you want, you can do Heritage Makers. The software, templates and art are all online. More info on my Web site: www.ourlifestoriesonline.com.

Appreciate your answer, OLS. I too, like digital since I started playing with it last year. It is so much easier to transport my projects. I use StoryBook Creator by Creative Memories. I must say, though, that as much as I love digital, there is still a place for traditional.

I prefer digital scrapbooking due to its advantages. They are the followings,
• It is easy to make and a time saving process
• Cost effective
• Designs can be re-used
• Easy to print multiple copies
• Make experiment to find the best design
• Easy to reverse mistakes
• Endless supply of color
• Easy to mail the pages or publish on the web

Hi..I love scrapbooking and I have compared the two and digital comes out on top.

The first thing that comes to mind with traditional vs. digital scrapbooking is which method interests me the most. While both have their advantages and disadvantages, I would initially choose the one that seems the most appealing tome . After all, between traditional vs. digital scrapbooking, I wanted to choose the one that I got the most fun out of.

What I did with scrapbooking vs. digital scrapbooking, was to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each option.

When it comes to the weaknesses that traditional scrapbooking might have, there are two main ones. First of all, in order to properly do your scrapbooking, you will need a significant amount of workspace to spread out all of your materials. Also, materials such as glitter and glue can make traditional scrapbooking rather messy.

Digital scrapbooking is, of course, a newer form of scrapbooking. The advantages that this form of scrapbooking has are mainly in terms of all the unique things that you can do with images and designs. When it comes to the disadvantages, there is one main one, and that is purchasing the right digital equipment. You will need a digital camera, digital scrapbooking software, and a digital photo printer that will meet your scrapbooking needs.

I share how I have combined the Power of Story with special photos to create some really great projects.

I am a personal publishing consultant for Heritage Makers and our goal is to make preserving family stories simple, fun, and rewarding.
