which martial art requires the least amount of physical contact for self-defense?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$Taiji (tai chi) actually has a fair amount of contact, and kung fu isn't actually a martial art. It is a phrase that means "great skill obtained over time through hard work".
The amount of contact depends on how long you fight and whether or not you can knock the person out first.
But I would have to say Judo, Japanese Jujitsu, Capoeira, Aikido, Sambo, wrestling, and/or Krav Maga.
If you have a problem with physical contact with other humans, well you have to get over that. All martial arts - grappling arts especially - have contact.

M$I am sorry the last video is a joke. here is the real one.
If there's no contact, how do you defend yourself against an attack? By mind power? If so, that would be pretty awesome...
Take a look at some of the Tai Chi masters. They don't need to touch you to throw you many feet or disable you.
Backing away from that, there is a minimal amount of "touch" required for Tai Chi.
So, to answer your comment, "by mind power"... yup. Do a search of videos with Tai Chi masters. It looks like the opponents are just running away or being nice to the old man. It really looks fake.. but I kid you not, this is for real.
Wow...you mean those little old ladies practicing Tai Chi in the park could totally kick my ass? Good to know...
No, but they are not training tai-chi to fight. Most people practice Tai-Chi as a form of exercise.
