Which looks better on men scarves or ties?

My personal opinion is ties, only because when I think of scarves, I think of women wearing them. A man in a tie for me screams entrepreneur, business man, church going fellow. Even if these assumptions are not true, these are certainly how I see the men wearing the ties.

What it really boils down to is what else they're wearing - frankly I lean more towards a tie myslf, but can see how a fashion forward guy may wear a tie as say, an ascot.
