The Masai Mara National Reserve. It's where the movie "Out of Africa" was filmed; it's the place Ernest Hemingway wrote about. "It is famous for its exceptional population of big cats, game, and the annual migration of 1.5 million zebra, Thomson's gazelle and wildebeest from the Serengeti every year from July to October, a migration so immense it is called the Great Migration." The Mara is the most popular park in Kenya.

The Okavango Delta. It's in Botswana and at 10,500 sq miles, is the world's largest inland delta between June & August. There are estimated to be 200,000 large mammals that seasonally visit and over 400 species of birds.

Amboseli National Park. It's right at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro - any pictures of wildlife you've seen with Kilimanjaro in the background were probably taken here. It's known for its population of over 900 elephants. It's the second most popular park in Kenya.

There are numerous world famous wildlife areas in Africa, there are incredible places for safari holidays such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa and Botswana safaris. I would say that the most famous wildlife are would have to be Kenya or Tanzania. The two countries lay next to one another and both share the Great Serengeti National Park which is famous for the 'great migration' (over two million wildebeest, gazelle and zebras travel across the great plains for food and water) and not to mention the world famous Mount Kilimanjaro in the foreground.

The classic safari holiday to Northern Tanzania, visiting Tarangire, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater are the best and most famous wildlife areas in Africa.
