The number of book titles should not be your only consideration. The market for educational textbooks, especially free textbooks is expected to be substantial. Students are expected to download textbooks on various ereaders like Coursesmart, ScrollMotion and Inkling.
The ePub format is the most popular but buyer beware - digital rights management (DRM) may exist when you download Apple ebooks even thought the format is ePub because the iBooks for the Apple iPad have DRM by Fairplay. Different DRM means incompatibility. So one is unlikely to be able to exchange ebooks readily among different platforms. Note that you can download different eReaders on the Apple iPad/iPhone such as the Amazon Kindle app but you won't be able to do one stop shopping because the iBookstore is the only certified app for e-commerce. You would have to buy the ebook via the browser (Kindle website) rather than directly through the app.
I personally am going to wait and see how the ebook reader market shakes out in the coming year.

I wouldve answered the other ones but I only have my phone now. I guess the capabilities of each reader are largely the same and platform is more important.
Just saw that this question has a revenue of 0.36 in 2 days while the other 2 w/o revenue.
I guess peoples are more interested on ebook platform as compared to ebook reader.
