Which is the best paying article site?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Associated Content is one of the very few that pay upfront for articles they think will do well. In addition they pay up to US$0.002 per page view. This does not depend on whether anyone clicks through to any ads. The upfront payments vary from US$0.99 to US$25.00, and mostly is in the US$3 to US$4 per article range for articles with at least 400 words. For successful articles you may end up getting hundreds of dollars over time, but for others you may end up with just the upfront payment (if any, as they may decline to pay anything for articles they don't think will do well). Note that Yahoo! just purchased Associated Content, and they may change things as far as how AC pays out.
Suite101 is a good site if you can get articles accepted there, but they are fairly picky.
Demand Studios will pay up to US$15 per article but they are very picky and sometimes their editors can be a pain to work with, to the point that they may kick you out if you show any independent thought process. You also sign away any rights to your articles.
eHow pays based on page views, which in my experience ends up not being very much. However, you may do much better if you are good at SEO writing and at promoting your content.
Mahalo is in my mind the best deal, as they provide a great deal of traffic-enhancing links automatically, but this works only if you write pages that are likely to do well.
Helium pays a little bit upfront and then more ad revenue sharing than AC, but the payout depends on such things as their rating system, which many claim is gamed by users, such that your results are not dependent only on how well you write, but also on how others' gaming affects your ratings.
Other sites worth looking into include Bukisa, Triond, etc.

M$Here's a link to their forum, which I enjoy participating. http://www.infobarrel.com/forum.php
I'm not going to explain reasons to write for InfoBarrel, because I haven't made any money writing for them. Mahalo has been good to me. Nevertheless, I will provide a link to a question I asked here in mahalo about InfoBarrel. http://www.mahalo.com/answers/anonymous/i-wrote-some-articles-at-infobarrel-and-im-not-making-any-money-from-adsense-i-have-promoted-them-quite-a-bit

M$Your source does not say that Xomba is best. Have you read it?
I used to write & post in my favorite Xomba and get an exciting return.
I'm not sure I understand your response. You posted a link to an article, which I assume was intended to support your assertion that Xomba is the best paying website for posting articles. However, reading the article at the link you provided, I found that while it listed Xomba as one of the paying sites, it is not stated to be the best of those on the list.
I've tried AC and DS personally, have looked into Helium and eHow before deciding they were not interesting for me, and have heard from online friends about their experiences with most of the others.
You should consider joining the free writers forum at http://accentuatewriters.com if you're interested in online and offline writing. The owner and moderator of AWF, Michelle Devon (pen name), is great about providing leads to paying gigs, contests (both on-site and off-site), etc. for writers, and provides enormous support for writers.
I didn't know you were so well informed about such things!
Have you tried all these sites? I'd be interested in hearing more about your experiences.
Maybe I should ask a better tipped question on this topic. :)
