Which is the best online backup service? and why? (Mac OS X)

Out of the following have you had any positive or negative experiences?
Tip for best answer: M$2.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I personally use mozy , I chose this back up Program with out doing my homework first.I have 2 GB of 100% free backup. No setup fees, no credit cards, no monthly payments, no expiration. And it is simple, secure, and affordable .I Found reviews on the others. My 1st choice would be the Idrive .

The idrive -

has drag-and-drop file restore, backup-set searching, and Web-based viewing of backup logs. The free Basic version allots up to 2GB of storage, and, where most rivals give you extra space for a set time if you refer acquaintances who then join, Idrive permanently adds 10GB to free accounts just for sharing five e-mail contacts. Pretty cool. The problem? IDrive's bewildering interface. ( FREE )

Carbonite -

Never worry about accidental deletion, theft, disaster, power surges or drive failure.$43.96 (reg. $54.95) One Year Subscription

* Unlimited backup and storage capacity
* Remote access from anywhere in the world
* Encrypted for optimal privacy protection

Backblaze -

Backblaze offers an easy to use program with plenty of advanced features at a great price ($5/mo or $50/yr);

Instead of having you select the files you want to backup, which can be confusing for many users, Backblaze automatically backs up the files they know you care about, including music, data, pictures, movies, etc. Then, to save your time and their storage space they automatically exclude things like your operating system, program files and temporary internet files, because this is stuff you definitely won't need in the future. You can manually exclude files you don't want backed up too. My 2nd Choice.

Check them all out ,they all sound pretty good !

Depending on what you need to back up, one of the free services might be enough. I don't back up the operating system., my applications, or my iTunes library (I have them backed up to a hard drive), so I only need to back up my critical data offsite.

I use Dropbox, which is really designed for file syncing across mutliple machines more than backup, but it also backs up your data to their server and even maintains older versions of the tiles, so you can restore to an earlier version if you need to.

https://www.getdropbox.com/referrals/NTExODU0NDk

It starts with 2GB of free space, but you can get more (up to 5GB) with referral links like the one anove (if you sign up using a referral link, you get an extra 250MB).

Mozy also offers 2GB free, so using both is a good option if 2GB won’t quite hold your critical data.

Checkout "MobileMe" by Apple. It has a bunch of other features but the backup option works great. It also integrates with "TimeMachine". Backups are seamless so there is no need for a third party client or service. I have had no problems with it.

Good Luck.

I've used carbonite before with absolutely no issues

However, I'd shop around for the best deal out of all of them, weigh up how much storage you're going to need eventually, and get the best price.

From past experience with other services (for windows) they're all much of a likeness

Mozy is best for backup, it's can backup Microsoft SQL, Outlook and any Open/locked file while most other Software can't.
